Fisherman: Help! There’s a beast. I’m trapped on the lake. My boat is stuck.
Narrator: Nice use of your nouns there. Beast, lake and boat. How about we expand those noun phrases?
Expanded noun phrases tell you more about the noun. So, ‘there’s a beast’ could be expanded to, there’s a water beast’
Fisherman: Fine but I’m still trapped on the lake.
Narrator: Come on, you can expand that noun phrase.
Fisherman: Fine! I’m trapped on this ‘beautiful’ lake.
Narrator: There you go. Just one more noun phrase to expand. Ermm, your boat is stuck you say.
Fisherman: There, are you happy now? My ‘little’ boat is stuck.
