Question

How would you change the above answers into the negative – to answer No?

Sometimes you need to say that you have or haven’t done something. The key word is wedi.

Simply replace the yn or ‘n in the following sentences with wedi, eg:

  • Dw i’n gorffen. – I’m finishing. > Dw i wedi gorffen. – I’ve finished.
  • Maen nhw’n cyrraedd. – They’re arriving. > Maen nhw wedi cyrraedd. – They have arrived.
  • Wyt ti’n bwyta? – Are you eating? > Wyt ti wedi bwyta? – Have you eaten?
  • Wyt ti’n gweithio dros y penwythnos? – Are you working over the weekend? > Wyt ti wedi gweithio dros y penwythnos? > Have you worked over the weekend?

So, what have you done so far today? Think of five answers to this question, but remember to use wedi if you are saying what you have done.
