Using verbs to describe family

When you want to give more information about your family, you need to get your verbs right.

You must use the third person form of the verb, especially heißen (to be called), sein (to be) and haben (to have).

heißen

  • er heißt – he is called
  • sie heißt – she is called
  • sie heißen – they are called

sein

  • er ist – he is
  • sie ist – she is
  • sie sind – they are

haben

  • er hat – he has
  • sie hat – she has
  • sie haben – they have
