Practise taking part in a conversation at the cinema. Read the instructions and prepare what you will say.
Scenario
You are in a French cinema, talking to a French teenager you have met there. They will start the conversation.
The bullet points give an idea of what might be asked, so use these to prepare. Where there is an exclamation mark (!) a surprise question will be asked. Where there is a question mark (?), you will need to ask a question yourself.

Friend - Bonjour. Pourquoi as-tu choisi ce cinéma ?
Student - Les places sont confortables et pas chères.
Friend - Comment est-ce que tu trouves les films d’horreur ?
Student - J’aime les films d’horreur car ils sont effrayants et ça me plait beaucoup !
Friend - Es-tu allé au cinéma récemment ?
Student - Oui, je suis allé au cinéma avec mes amis le weekend dernier. Nous avons regardé un film d’action et c’était passionnant.
Friend - Ah, intéressant.
Student - Quel genre de film est-ce que tu préfères ?
Friend - Moi, j’aime les films d’action.
Student - Ce film finit à quelle heure ?
Friend - À 19h00.
Translation:
Friend - Hello. Why have you chosen this cinema?
Student - The seats are comfortable and inexpensive.
Friend - What do you think of horror films?
Student - Yes, I like horror films because they are exciting, and I like that a lot!
Friend - Have you been to the cinema recently?
Student - Yes, I went to the cinema last weekend with my friends. We watched an action film and it was exciting.
Friend - Ah, interesting.
Student - What kind of film do you prefer?
Friend - I like action films.
Student - When does this film finish?
Friend - At 19:00.
