Arranging a trip to Glastonbury
Imagine that some friends ask you the following question:
Hoffet ti ddod i Glastonbury gyda ni?
How would you reply?
You might decide to answer using Hoffwn. However, you are bound to have many questions about the trip such as the cost, how to get a ticket and travelling arrangements.
Question
Answer the question Hoffet ti ddod i Glastonbury gyda ni? Say that you would like to go but also ask:
- How much does the trip cost?
- How are you travelling?
- How can I get a ticket?
- Hoffwn, ond faint ydy cost y trip?
- Hoffwn, ond sut ydych chi’n teithio?
- Hoffwn, ond sut galla ican I [also: I can] gael tocyn?

Here are some possible answers to the above questions. Rearrange the words and expressions so that each sentence is correct.
- yn costio Mae’r trip hanner can punt
- teithio ni’n Rydyn y bws ar
- Mae tocyn Sioned gyda sbâr
- Mae’r trip yn costio hanner can punt. – The trip costs fifty pounds.
- Rydyn ni’n teithio ar y bws. – We are travelling on the bus.
- Mae tocyn sbâr gyda Sioned. – Sioned has a spare ticket. (In north Wales: Mae gan Sioned docyn sbâr.)
You may also have other questions, eg:
- Pa fath o ddillad? - What kind of clothes?
- Ble fyddwn ni’n cysgu? - Where will we be sleeping?
- Pwy fyddwn ni’n gweld yn perfformio? - Who will we see performing?
- Beth arall fyddwn ni’n wneud yno? - What else will we do there?
Note the future tense forms in this piece:

Exercise
Look on the internet to see what’s happening at the next Glastonbury festival and then answer the above questions. As you are answering as a member of a group, you could use Byddwn ni’n ______, eg:
Byddwn ni’n gwrando ar ______.
Byddwn ni’n dawnsio yn y ______.
You could also ask each other what other members of the group want to do when they get to Glastonbury:
Beth wyt ti eisiau gwneud yn Glastonbury?
Beth ydych chi eisiau gwneud yn Glastonbury?

It’s always a good idea to express an opinion if possible. Therefore, if you arrange an event as a group, make opportunities to say what you think of something or why you like or dislike something. You can do this using the present, past or the future tense.
