Practise taking part in a job interview. Read the instructions and prepare what you will say.
Scenario
You are asking for a summer holiday job in a café in France. The teacher will play the role of employer and will speak first.
You must address the manager as vous.
The bullet points give an idea of what might be asked, so use these to prepare. Where there is an exclamation mark (!) a surprise question will be asked. Where there is a question mark (?), you will need to ask a question yourself.

Employer: Bonjour, je peux vous aider ?
Candidate: Oui, je cherche du travail ici pour l’été.
Employer: Pourquoi voulez-vous cet emploi ?
Candidate: Je voudrais travailler ici car j’aime servir les clients.
Employer: Quand êtes-vous disponible ?
Candidate: Je suis disponible tous les jours en juillet et août.
Employer: Bon. Quelles sont vos qualités ?
Candidate: Je suis très travailleuse et j’aime parler avec les gens.
Employer: D’accord.
Candidate: Est-ce qu’il faut porter un uniforme ?
Employer: Oui.
Translation:
Employer: Hello, can I help you?
Candidate: Yes, I’m looking for a job here this summer.
Employer: Why do you want this job?
Candidate: I’d like to work here because I like serving customers.
Employer: When are you available?
Candidate: I’m available every day in July and August.
Employer: Good. What are your qualities?
Candidate: I am very hardworking, and I like talking to people.
Employer: OK.
Candidate: Do you have to wear a uniform?
Employer: Yes.
