Question
You recently attended a birthday party, but one of your best friends was unable to attend. Write a message to them on social media, telling them about the party. Include the following details in your message:
- where the party was held
- who attended the party
- what food was provided
- what present you gave
- what you most enjoyed about the night
Sample responses may include:
Chuaigh mé go cóisir Aoibhe ag an deireadh seachtaine. Bhí an chóisir sa halla mór sa Chlub Áitiúil de chuid Chumann Lúthchleas Gael. Thosaigh sé ar a hocht a chlog agus níor chríochnaigh sé go meán oíche - I went to Aoibhe’s party at the weekend. The party was in the hall in the local GAA Club. It started at eight o’clock and it didn’t finish until midnight.
Bhí teaghlach Aoibhe ar fad ann agus bhí cuid mhór dá cairde ón scoil ann fosta. Chonaic mé cúpla duine ag an chóisir a bhí ar an chúrsa Gaeltachta linn anuraidh. D’fhan Aoibhe sa teach céanna leo. - All Aoibhe’s family were there and a lot of her friends from school were there also. I saw a couple of people at the party that were on the Gaeltacht course with us last year. Aoibhe stayed in the same house as them.

I tasted a big piece of apple tart with cream and it was so nice.

Scríobh mé sa chárta do dtig léi a rogha rud a cheannach leis an airgead. - I didn’t have a chance to buy her a present before the party, so I bought her a card and I put a twenty pound note inside. I wrote in the card that she could buy whatever she wanted with the money.
