Did you know?

If you are lucky enough to take part in an exchange – ein Austausch – with a host family from a German-speaking country, you will get to know first-hand how young people spend their free time.

It's a great way to improve your German language skills in a natural setting, for example going to the outdoor pool – ins Freibad gehen, helping out with the cooking and washing up – kochen und abspülen, going shopping – einkaufen gehen or even just playing computer games and watching TV – gamen und fernsehen.
