Using the perfect infinitive

The perfect infinitive can be translated as ‘after having done’ something. It can be used in conjunction with another phrase in any . For example:

  • Après avoir terminé mes études, je trouverai un emploi. - After finishing my studies, I will find a job.
  • Après m’être couché(e), je me suis endormi(e) tout de suite. - After going to bed, I fell asleep straightaway.
  • Après être arrivé(e)s chez vous, nous nous relaxerons. - After arriving at your place, we will relax.
