Carnival Queen Delysia with Nikisha and Shinade
Carnival returns to Birmingham on Sunday 3rd August. The free extravaganza takes place at Perry Park. Take the whole family and enjoy a day of non-stop music, fun and dancing in spirit of the Caribbean.

This year's Carnival with the theme 'Connecting Communities' includes a vibrant procession led by the new Carnival Queen, starting at 12.30pm from Holyhead Road, Handsworth. It will make its way through Perry Barr to Perry Park. See the Carnival procession route, travel details and parking.

Hundreds of spectators will line the procession route to watch local people from the community wearing colourful costumes and dancing next to floats of groups playing in steelbands.

Times
12:00 - Event starts in Perry Park
12:30 - Procession leaves Holyhead School
15:30 - Procession arrives at Perry Park
20:45 - Fireworks display
21:00 - Close of event in Perry Park

If you can't get down to the Carnival tune into BBC WM on 95.6FM. Our very own Herdle White and Jenny Wilkes will be reporting live from the event throughtout the day.

Birmingham Carnival brings together the best in black art, culture and entertainment in the city. People come from all over the country will join in the fun of the Carnival, which is now a major event in Birmingham's cultural calendar.
