On Sunday 20th July, Shezad Roy was very busy performing at the Slough Asian Mela, but still we managed to get an interview out of him.
How does it feel to perform in front of such a loud crowd?
"The crowd is amazing, it's huge, it's great to see people of every culture together".
How would you describe your music to someone who hasn't heard it before?
"My music is cultural pop and whenever I write something I try to convey a message".
How did you get into music?
"Well when I was young I used to have a guitar and I wanted to be a guitarist and afterwards I started singing, because when I used to play my guitar I used to hum with it, so slowly I started to sing with it".
Was there anyone you were inspired by?
"I was actually inspired by guitarists".
Have you got anything planned for the future?
"Yes, I have an album coming out in October".
What advice would you give to anyone who wants to get into music?
"Well do whatever you want but as long as it's positive it's ok".
