Here are just a few of the many things the BBC is doing with digital technology. If you know of others - email us.
Tapeless radio production becoming the norm
Tapes and CDs are becoming tools of the past in Radio as tapeless production becomes the norm. In Radio 4 Continuity Ops, 100% of programmes are now played out from VCS (hard disc). In Radio 1 tapeless production and playout has been the main tool for two years and BBC 7 has been using tapeless production since its inception - a ground breaker in transforming radio production, delivering cost savings and improved technical quality.
BBC Three interactive multiscreen pilot
The new Radio Player has made digital time shifting across all radio media a reality. Audiences can listen live or listen again and choose what they want to listen to by Radio Station or by genre so they won't miss out, no matter where their favourite type of programme airs.

Information & Archives has been working on millions of our past tapes to get them into digital format. Learning from previous experience, they've figured out a way to prioritise what gets digitised first. The Creative Archive should be fully ready in 2010.
