My name is Kevin, I'm originally from Carnoustie, Angus in Scotland, where I am living at present too. A small golf town.
My grandfather who died when my Father was 10 was originally from Jura, but lived in Glasgow. He was a native speaker of Gaelic, but unfortunately did not speak any Gaelic to my father or his brothers before he passed away. I feel almost that learning Gaelic or at least some basics of the language as respect to my grandfather, and to continue to keep Gaelic alive in the Gillies family.
My favourite Gaelic expression has to be '' 's math sin' because it sounds identical to 'smashing' and it almost means the same, from what I understand. The picture is from Iceland, where I lived for 3 years, taken on a very windy day of around 40mph on a beach in the west.
