Anne

Don't panic! Gaelic follows the English!

My name is Anne and I live in South Africa.

I am inspired to learn Gaelic because my mother's family is Scots and came to Africa in 1864. Their name is Whyte, and they were from Inverallochy. Now that I am older, I am fascinated by my ancestry, and am very proud and happy with my Scots ancestry. I have been to Scotland a few times and hope to visit again soon.

Kind regards, Anne C Pipe

'S e Anna an t-ainm a th' orm agus tha mi a' fuireach ann an Afraga a Deas.

Tha mi air mo bhrosnachadh gus Gàidhlig ionnsachadh air sgàth gur ann à Alba a bha teaghlach mo mhàthar, agus thàinig iadsan a dh'Afraga ann an 1864. B' e Mac 'Ille Bhàin a bh' orra agus b' ann à Inbhir Aileachaidh a bha iad. On dh'fhàs mi nas sine, tha ùidh mhòr air a bhith agam na mo shinnsireachd, agus tha mi glè mhoiteil às mo shinnsearachd Albannach. Tha mi air a bhith ann an Alba beagan thursan agus tha mi an dòchas tadhal ann a-rithist a dh'aithghearr.

Le deagh dhùrachd, Anna
