Connecting with the BBC
Connecting with the BBC Scotland commissioning team
The commissioning teams accept ideas and proposals from production companies so creative people should reach out to producers in the first instance to help shape and represent their ideas.
However we know that’s not always easy and there’s talent out there and desperate to connect and there are other ways you might want to approach the BBC.
WRITERS
We’re always on the hunt for new drama writing talent so have a look at how you can work with BBC Writersroom here.
Please note commissioners do not read unsolicited scripts or books.
COMEDY TALENT
If you’re funny and feel like you have something to offer, consider if you have some sketches in you that could work for our BBC Scotland Short Stuff platform. If you do maybe use some of the free to air digital platforms and your phone to showcase your talents and then find a new or established production company of any shape or size to pitch them in or send them direct to our commissioning team via this email [email protected]
You can see some examples of Short Stuff here to give you a sense of the type of content.
Alternatively comedy talent can engage with the BBC via our “Voices” opportunities. More information here.
If you’re a bit more established and have some producer relationships already, consider the more advanced short form comedy development opportunities here.
