Just a handful of people born in these areas � 5,600 � live in Britain, with the largest cluster in Leicester, numbering 220 or so people in 2001.
However, a closer look at areas related to the British Army's infantry - Catterick and Salisbury Plain for instance - show clusters of Pacific Islanders, indicating the history of recruitment from the other side of the world.
