The terminally ill mother-of-three has now raised �105,000 after successfully completing the London Marathon and the London Triathlon.

Just six weeks ago Jane, of Rothwell, achieved a memorable hattrick by finishing the 13 mile Great North Run.

Jane, 38, became the first terminally ill competitor to complete all three events.

Jane was diagnosed with breast cancer 12 years ago but despite a mastectomy the cancer later spread to her lungs.

Her exploits recently earned her the prestigious title of Yorkshire Woman of the Year.

Today Jane presented a cheque to Cancer Research UK.

She is still undergoing chemotherapy treatment for her condition and said: "I knew that �100,000 was a pretty tough target.

"But I had already exceeded mine and everyone else's expectations by completing the London Marathon in April.

"I have been overwhelmed by people's support and generosity and I would like to thank each and every one who has made a contribution.

"I couldn't have done it without the support of my family, friends and workmates.

"I know Cancer Research UK will put this money to good use, helping continue its vital work to bring hope for other young people touched by cancer."

Cancer Research spokeswoman Helen Robertson said Jane had become an inspiration for thousands of terminally ill people.

"She has not only inspired and touched the hearts of the nation but all those at Cancer Research UK. We cannot thank her enough," she said.
