Sarah-Jane Brightmore and Philip Currie escaped the Sari nightclub bombing with cuts from flying glass. Despite their injuries, they decided to go ahead with their planned ceremony just five days after the explosion, which claimed the lives of nearly 200 people, at least 11 of them Britons. The couple, both 27, finally exchanged vows in an open Balinese temple, according to the Sun. Miss Brightmore was nursing wounds to her arms, which were still clearly visible, the newspaper reported. The pair, both models working in Hong Kong, sent a message of condolence to the families of victims. They had been in the Sari nightclub with four friends when the bomb ripped through the building, the newspaper said. All six survived the blast. Meanwhile, the UK government said it had "no specific warnings" of an imminent attack on Bali, prior to the bombing.
He also said neither the US nor Australia received any warnings. However, Prime Minister Tony Blair has told cabinet colleagues he is certain more attacks are being planned. The Foreign Office has advised Britons not to travel to Indonesia unless it is essential. |
