| | Friday, 15 November, 2002, 09:05 GMT In pictures: Bali cleansing ritual Thousands of people have attended an elaborate Hindu ceremony at the site of last month's deadly bombings on the Indonesian holiday island of Bali.  The ceremony was an attempt to restore spiritual harmony following the devastating bombs.  Some people drank chicken blood as part of a purification ritual, but it was not to everyone's taste.  Several cows, goats, pigs and geese were sacrificed on the beach.  Foreign tourists joined local people to mourn the dead and pray for peace.  The ceremony took place amid the charred vehicles and piles of rubble at the bomb site.  Police said they had deployed more than 4,000 officers on the island to tighten security for the event. | |
