Teressa Edwards is hoping a recording company will sign her up |
A Wrexham footballer's wife is aiming to emulate David Beckham's wife Victoria by embarking on a solo pop career. Wrexham winger Carlos Edwards' wife, Teressa, was set to perform before an estimated 8,000 crowd at the Racecourse at half-time during the Robins' match with Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday.
The performance is part of Teressa's aim to attract attention from record company bosses in her search for a recording contract.
She performed the Pointer Sisters' I'm so excited on Saturday although Wrexham fans might think that Michael Jackson's Rockin' Robin would be more appropriate.

Teressa moved from Trinidad when her husband signed to the Nationwide League Second Division club four years ago.
The 23-year-old works as a sales assistant in Wrexham and had to delay her bid for fame after the birth of their son Tristan, who is now two.
Speaking before her performance, Teressa said: "I'm a bit nervous about performing in front of such a large crowd but I'm up for the challenge."
"I've been working with a Rhyl-based recording company and hope to present myself to other record companies later this year," she said.
Teressa is following in the footsteps of other footballers' wives who have had a pop career.
The late Billy Wright who was England captain in the 1950s was married to Joy Beverley, one third of the Spice Girls of their day, The Beverley Sisters.

And, of course, Teressa has the example of Victoria Beckham - who had several number ones with the Spice Girls before she met her footballing husband - to follow.
"I think Victoria Beckham is OK but I wouldn't say I was a huge fan," said Teressa.
"My background is in gospel singing and I prefer soul singers like Aretha Franklin," she said.
Teressa's performance in front of the Wrexham supporters comes after she sang at the club's Christmas party.
"That went very well but we'll see how it goes tomorrow before I commit to do more performances at half-time," she said.
