Victoria Beckham and Damon Dash have been promoting Rocawear |
Victoria Beckham's latest producer has slighted her musical talents - saying if he can make her a success he can do it with anyone. Hip hop guru Damon Dash has been working on new material with the former Spice Girl, which is expected to lead her in a urban musical direction.
"If we can make Victoria hot, we can make anyone hot," he said.
He also scotched rumours that she will be rapping on her new album, adding he had "never done anything corny".
Dash is the founder of the Roc-a-Fella record label, along with business partner Jay-Z.
He has also branched into the world of fashion, using Victoria Beckham as a model for the Rocawear label.
She has been spending time in the US with Dash, recording tracks and promoting their musical partnership.
Speaking on MTV's TRL show, Dash said: "She's not going to be rapping - all we're going to do with Victoria is give her a hip hop influence.
And he added: "If we can make Victoria hot, we can make anybody hot.
Promotion
Beckham's musical career has been off the boil in recent years as she has struggled to emulate the success she and the other members of the Spice Girls achieved when the group was at the height of its success.
Her first solo album cost a reported 5m to produce but only managed to sell about 50,000 copies.
She parted company with record label Virgin in 2002.
Beckham then signed to the Telstar label but no material has yet been released, and she has been concentrating her efforts on promoting her image in the US with footballer husband David Beckham.
