Wrexham have been promoted to Division Two |
Hundreds of football fans are expected to converge in Wrexham on Saturday to celebrate their team's promotion to Division Two.
Players and directors will be paraded through the town on an open top bus on 17 May.
They will be picked up from the Racecourse Ground and driven through the town centre for a civic reception hosted by the Mayor of Wrexham.
Wrexham secured their promotion late last month after a 5-0 victory over Cambridge.
Medals
The Dragons stretched their unbeaten run to six games to pull clear of the play-off zone and join Rushden and Diamonds and Hartlepool in automatic promotion.
The team will appear on the Civic Balcony at Wrexham Council's headquarters where they will receive their promotion shield and medals.
Mayor Rodney Skelland said the team have proved a huge success.
"The Mayoress and I are delighted to host this celebration here at the Guildhall in recognition of Wrexham Football Club's great achievement this season," he said.
"The team's successes certainly do lift the spirits of the town and I am sure that many people will want to turn out to join in the celebrations.
"This will be a great day to remember and a fine way to finish my year in office."
