The family say they will never get over losing Jade |
The family of an Anglesey girl who died when they were in a horrific car crash before Christmas two years ago have been honoured at a ceremony in London. Jade Parry, 12, was killed instantly and her brother and sisters seriously injured in the crash on a blind bend.
The three children, from Amlwch, spent four months in hospital after the accident in December 2002.
The three, along with their mother and father, were honoured as Children of Courage award winners.
Wendy Parry and her four children were on their way home after a trip Christmas shopping when their BMW was involved in the fatal collision at Dulas near Moelfre.
Jade died at the scene while her brother Connor, 10, suffered a stroke, one sister Paige, nine, fractured 17 bones and the other Chelsea, six, was paralysed from the waist down.
At one point all three were critically ill in the intensive care unit at Alder Hey Children's Hospital in Liverpool.

An inquest recorded a verdict of accidental death on Jade. The hearing was told that the road surface where the accident happened was worn and had been resurfaced just a few weeks before.
Jade's father, John Parry later called for action to be taken over 'dangerous' roads on the north Wales island.
He said there were treacherous potholes on some roads, and he believed hazard signs should be put up in certain places.
Anglesey Council said at that time that it was trying to get more money to maintain roads in its area.
On Tuesday all the Parrys were honoured at the Children of Courage awards held by Woman's Own magazine at Westminster Abbey in London.
They also met Tony Blair and his wife Cherie at a reception at Downing Street on Wednesday.
The family said they have pulled together and although they would never get over losing Jade, they were grateful for every day they have together.
