Two key housing developments in a neighbourhood renewal project in south west Scotland have been approved.

Dumfries and Galloway Housing Partnership will construct the properties at two sites in the area.

The first project will see 174 homes built on land opposite Dumfries' Maxwelltown High School.

A second scheme will replace 112 flats in the Lochside area with 78 houses. Both plans are part of a multi-million pound overhaul of the area.

Dumfries and Galloway Housing Partnership is one of Scotland's largest registered social landlords, owning and managing over 10,000 affordable rented homes across the area.
