 South west Scotland showed the highest rise in prices |
South west Scotland has shown the highest increase in the country in its average price for house sales. Figures released by Registers of Scotland showed an 8% increase between January and March this year compared to the same period 12 months ago.
Statistics for south west of Scotland saw its average price rise by 12.5%.
The average property in the area now sells for just over �109,000 which is still well short of the national figure which is more than �124,000.
Other areas performing well included Highlands and Islands (12.1%) and the Scottish Borders (9.8%).
The figures also showed that average prices across the country declined by 1.2% compared to the previous three months.
