Gretna stadium bid back on table
Raydale
The ground plans are set to go back before councillors
Gretna Football Club has put forward a new bid to construct a 3.5m all-seater stadium at Raydale Park.

The first division side wants to create a 6,000-capacity ground which complies with Scottish Premier League rules.

A previous application drew objections about the potential traffic impact and a decision was deferred to allow councillors to make a site visit.

That prompted fears the club could miss the SPL's March deadline for grounds to be brought up to its standards.

The latest planning application will be considered by the local area committee on 23 October.

Once again it has been recommended for approval by planning officers.

Gretna currently sit top of division one on goal difference.
