Alan Cumming
Actor Alan Cumming has starred in film and on stage

Hollywood and Broadway star Alan Cumming has re-opened Aberdeen arts venue The Lemon Tree after it was saved from closure.

It went into voluntary liquidation with the loss of 50 jobs in December, but is now under new management.

A deal agreed with Aberdeen City Council saw it taken over by Aberdeen Performing Arts (APA).

The Scottish actor, whose work includes GoldenEye and X-Men 2, re-opened the venue on Friday afternoon.

He is appearing in the National Theatre of Scotland's production of The Bacchae at the city's His Majesty's Theatre (HMT).
