School action plan goes to public
Protest
Parents have been protesting at the gates of schools
The public are to be consulted over plans to close or merge a dozen Aberdeen schools.

Councillors voted late on Wednesday afternoon to ask for public feedback on the proposals.

Aberdeen City Council is considering the move as it said many school buildings were under-attended and too costly to maintain.

The plan has caused anger among parents at many of the schools and they have started campaigns to save them.

Four city primaries - Victoria Road, Causewayend, Kittybrewster and Stoneywood - have been recommended for possible closure.

Others with a school roll well below capacity could merge.
