Clarke: 'We have to face reality'

The Shadow Business Secretary Ken Clarke has said the UK cannot afford the economic stimulus described by the government.

He said an IMF forecast which says Britain will be worst-hit by the economic downturn should bring "an air of reality".

Mr Clarke said the government "should face up to the fact that they are burning more money on schemes that are not working".
