Cable: 'We have to take the IMF seriously'

The International Monetary Fund has warned that the world is facing its most severe economic downturn since the Second World War.

In its latest forecast, the IMF also said the UK will suffer the worst contraction among the advanced economies.

The Liberal Democrats' Treasury spokesman, Vince Cable, said the warning must be taken seriously.
