The site of the proposed new stadium has caused controversy |
Plans for Swindon Town's new football stadium are being shown at the County Ground on Thursday. The display is part of a roadshow aiming to test public opinion on plans for the new 22,000 seater development.
Facilities for greyhound racing, athletics, cricket, and rugby are also being considered for the new stadium at the Peatmoor Reclamation Site.
The consultation is also focusing on how the County Ground could be used if the club moves out.
The plans focus on several hundred homes being built there, but also include retaining the cricket pavilion to be used as a clubhouse for bowling and room for several sports pitches.
Some residents have shown their opposition to the proposed venue of the Peatmoor site - known locally as the Shaw Forest Country Park - with banners, leaflets and a demonstration.
The event is being organised by the football club and developers St Modwens.
It starts at 1300 BST. A public presentation day has already been held in West Swindon.
