Plans for a new stadium could be revised |
Swindon Town's plans for a new stadium are being "slightly revised" by developers after a public meeting. The football club's chief executive, Mark Devlin, says residents in the Shaw area of the town have given them useful feedback.
Some residents near the planned stadium have shown their opposition to the plan with banners and leaflets.
"There were some valid points made which I think the developers have been taking on-board," said Mr Devlin.
Swindon are hoping to move into a new 22,000 seater stadium before the 2007/8 season.
The club's current town centre stadium, the County Ground, is owned by the borough council.
"There were obvious concerns about traffic, litter and safety, and the question was raised over why is it being built here," Mr Devlin added.
"In fact, they have already come up with two slightly revised options which differ from the original public plans."
