A day of celebration is taking place in Newcastle for Sir Bobby Robson.

Banners will be placed around St James's Park for Newcastle's game against Liverpool, thanking Sir Bobby for his work representing the region.

The 75-year-old is battling cancer for a fifth time. A collection for the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation will also take place on Sunday.

Organised by the Newcastle United Supporters' Club, fans will sing a rendition of 'Robson's Wonderland'.

The former England and Newcastle United manager's charity has already raised 1m for a medical research centre being built at Newcastle's Freeman Hospital.

Sir Bobby said he wanted to repay the NHS for the care he had received since he was first diagnosed with cancer in 1992.
