Former England boss Sir Bobby Robson says he is getting "better every day" - almost three weeks after undergoing an operation to remove a brain tumour. "I'm making progress and recuperating well," the 73-year-old told www.nobok.co.uk.
"The chances are I will need to be in hospital for another two to three weeks but that is up to the specialist looking after me to decide.
"I'm on the mend. Every day is a better day and I'm getting more movement."
The tumour was found when he was taken to hospital after falling ill during a match at Ipswich in August.
He is honorary president of the Suffolk side.
After the operation, a slight swelling on his brain led to the temporary loss of movement on his left side.
Robson, currently a consultant for the Republic of Ireland side, had a lung tumour removed earlier this year and has had other cancer surgery on a previous two occasions.
He led England as coach to the 1990 World Cup semi-finals and had a successful managerial career at Ipswich Town.
He also managed Barcelona, PSV Eindhoven, Sporting Lisbon, FC Porto and Newcastle United.
