Banned teenager bit policemen
Ben White
Ben White admitted assaulting two police officers
A teenager, previously banned from large parts of a seaside town, has pleaded guilty to biting two policemen.

Ben White, 19 and his brother Robert, have been barred from various areas of their home town, Weston-super-Mare.

In court on Tuesday, Ben White admitted assaulting two police officers in April and breaching his anti-social behavioural order (ASBO).

He was remanded in custody to appear before Bristol Crown Court on a date to be fixed.

Weston-super-Mare magistrates were told White had been drinking with friends in a pub in the town's Regent Street when two officers attempted to arrest him for breach of his ASBO.

Verbal abuse

After he made several failed attempts to convince the policemen he was a third, older brother, he hurled verbal abuse at the officers and threatened to smash a glass in their faces, magistrates heard.

The court was told the struggle escalated outside the pub resulting in White biting both officers.

Pc Jason Shears and Pc Mark Whelham both suffered bite marks to their arms as well as scratches and grazes.

Magistrates were also told Ben White had breached a 12-month community rehabilitation order imposed on him at Bristol Crown Court in March.

He is to appear for sentencing for breach of his community rehabilitation order as well as the three new offences.
