More than 100 Shropshire ice hockey fans have backed plans to set up a supporters trust to save their team.

Telford Tigers had to leave the English Premier League when the owners David and Rachel Candlin stepped down in April to pursue other commitments.

Fans met at Telford Ice Rink on Tuesday night to propose running the club along a collective football trust model.

Supporter Mike Dixon said: "It was an excellent turn out and the trust will definitely be set up now."
