Telford Tigers' play-off hopes are hanging by a thread after losing 7-4 to Slough and 6-1 to Sheffield in back-to-back games at the weekend. With six minutes left at Slough, Tigers were level and coach Claude Dumas, who scored twice, said: "I really thought we were going to cause an upset."
Tigers then picked up 82 minutes of suspensions against Sheffield.
And Dumas said: "Familiarity breeds contempt. That's the ninth time we've played them this season."
And looking at Tigers' dreams of promotion, Dumas added: "I think, realistically, it is going to be very hard for us to reach the play-offs.
"It's a shame because we were having a good run around Christmas, but since then we have not picked up points.
"We have another tough weekend ahead and we have to keep playing until the end and see what happens. We want to pick up more points - that is our aim every weekend and we won't give up."
Next weekend sees Tigers at home to Romford on Saturday (1730 GMT) before travelling to Peterborough the following day.
