Skateboarding plans taking shape
Skateboarders in Telford could soon have the chance to hone their skills at two new practice areas.

Government money has been secured to help pay for a 100,000 skate park, BMX trail track and games area in Leegomery.

Telford police have backed the project and work will begin in the late spring if planning permission is granted.

There are also plans for a similar facility in Stirchley, although they are at a much earlier stage.

Telford and Wrekin Council has applied for money to fund the project.

The authority is still waiting to hear if the bid has been successful.

An area of land off Leegate Avenue has been earmarked for the development, which has been designed with the help of a nearby youth club.
