Scaled down bus services restored

Two bus services in Nottingham are being restored
Bus services in parts of Nottingham that were cut last year due to a staff shortage are being restored.

Nottingham City Transport says more drivers are being recruited after new pay rates were agreed.

Nearly 100 services were either withdrawn or reduced when the company revised its timetable in July 2003.

Barry Birch from NCT said passengers should see improvements to their journeys with the frequency of two services being increased.

"We're restoring the service 37 between the city centre and the forecourt of the QMC - that's going to run every 10 minutes, Monday to Friday.

"We're also enhancing the 193 service between Wollaton and Bramcote down into Beeston.

"That currently runs every 90 minutes and we're bringing it back to an hourly service with later journeys coming back from Beeston in the evenings."
