Passengers face bus changes
Bus stop
There are over 100 driver vacancies
A huge shake-up of Nottingham City Transport's timetable came into force on Sunday.

The company is withdrawing several routes and reducing weekend and evening services on others.

Nearly 100 services are either being withdrawn or operating from a revised timetable, which means fewer buses running at evenings and weekends.

Fares are also being increased by 10% to pay for wage increases.

Nottingham City Transport (NCT) blames an acute shortage of drivers, but many passengers are angry.

Environment groups like Transport 2000 say the changes are very disappointing at a time when people are being encouraged to get out of their cars and onto public transport.

Managers at NCT said they regretted the inconvenience to passengers but the staffing problems have given them little choice.
