Question mark over bus services
The future of Nottinghamshire's bus services is being considered at a meeting on Thursday.

Over the past year, 60 bus services have been axed across Nottinghamshire by companies such as Stagecoach, Trent Barton and Nottingham City Transport.

Driver shortages, falling passenger numbers, and fuel costs are blamed.

Now all three operators will join the county council's environment select committee to find ways of preventing more cutbacks in the future.

The council has invested 250,000 in rescuing some services but it is unable to confirm if these subsidies will continue.

Both bus operators and councillors are urging more people to use bus services.

The outcome of the meeting will be disclosed on Thursday afternoon.
