Mountaineer Alan Hinkes is set to renew his bid to become the first Briton to climb the world's 14 highest peaks. Last week, bad weather forced Mr Hinkes from Northallerton to return to his base camp on Kanchenjunga in Nepal.
He now hopes to begin his climb again on Thursday with the possibility of an attempt on the summit over the weekend.
If successful, the 50-year-old will be one of only 12 climbers to have reached the summit of all the world's peaks above 8,000m.
At 8,586m (28,169ft), Kanchenjunga is the world's third highest mountain and is the final hurdle in Mr Hinkes' challenge which started in 1987.
His first attempt to climb the peak had to be abandoned in 2000 because of bad weather.
