A man from North Yorkshire has just one more summit to climb in his quest to be the first Briton to scale the world's 14 highest mountains. Alan Hinkes climbed his thirteenth peak after reaching the Himalayan summit of Dhaulagiri - the world's seventh highest mountain.
Mr Hinkes, from Northallerton, began his challenge in 1987.
His final peak is Mount Kangchenjunga which he has attempted twice but had to abandon after a broken arm and illness.
