Castle concerts woe costs 25,000
Staff are facing disciplinary action over health and safety problems which led to the disruption of concerts at Lincoln Castle.

In June a show by the group The Feeling had to be cancelled and Marti Pellow was moved after it emerged paperwork had not been completed properly.

Lincolnshire County Council has now completed an investigation.

A spokesman said the problems had cost the council about 25,000 and action had been taken to ensure no repeat.

Management action

The report said the main failure was down to a poor handover as one member of staff left.

Mark Homer from the council said: "The total cost was over 100,000 but because of the insurance cover the authority has, the amount was restricted to the excess of 25,000.

"I don't want to detract from the fact that it's money that has not been spent in terms of the greater good of Lincolnshire but that is why we have this sort of insurance."

He added that staff named in the report would face "management action" and procedures for future events had been improved.
