Hospital plan clears major hurdle
Lincolnshire is to get a new, multi-million pound hospital following delays over the choice of site.

South Holland District Council approved plans for the 24m building at a meeting on Thursday night.

The South Holland Community Hospital, on Spalding Road in Pinchbeck, has been twice deferred over concerns about its possible location and access.

Work on the project is due to start in October 2006 and should be finished by the end of 2007 or early 2008.

It is expected to include a minor injuries unit, physiotherapy and community nursing facilities.
