Another delay to hospital scheme
Residents will have to keep on waiting for a new 24m hospital in Spalding.

The plans by East Lincolnshire Primary Care Trust remain on hold after queries over traffic impact, drainage, road safety and car parking.

South Holland district councillors even questioned whether the PCT could prove it had picked the correct site.

Steve Williams, head of planning, said most of the queries came down to "technical issues" which should be sorted ahead of the next meeting.

He said: "It hinges on the detail, particularly the access and the highway safety."

Speaking of the delay, he said: "It is only a matter of a few weeks. We will hold a special meeting and will arrange that as soon as we possibly can."

He said when there were answers to the issues raised by councillors at Tuesday's meeting, then a special meeting would be called.

The plans were deferred at a special meeting on Tuesday. Another meeting is expected to be called within a few weeks.
