Meeting to discuss wind farms
Plans to erect two wind turbines at Croft near Skegness are to be discussed by protesters at a public meeting on Friday.

East Lindsey District Council has deferred the decision on the matter because it wants to look into the whole issue of wind farms.

A public inquiry is also due to be held into proposals for 20 turbines at nearby Orby.

The meeting for people to discuss the plans will be at Orby Village Hall.

Loud meetings

Colin Davey, who organised the meeting, explained why he wanted to hold it in the first place.

He said: "I think there is a strength of feeling across the district about the whole wind farm issue.

"This has grown out of the lack of consultation with the public, the lack of public meetings, the lack of public information.

"We thought the meeting could be good so people can explore the wider issues of wind farms."

Mark Caudwell, who is behind the Orby plans, explained he was invited to the meeting but from his experience it was not worth going.

He said: "The protesters get so worked up they simply shout and I cannot put my points across."
