Turbine decision put off

There is concern about the turbines' visual impact
Plans to erect two wind turbines at Croft near Skegness have been deferred by East Lindsey District Council.

Both turbines would be nearly 300 feet (91 metres) high.

Spencer Farm Produce has applied to East Lindsey District Council to build the turbines on land at High Lane, in Croft, Lincolnshire.

The decision has been put on hold until the scrutiny panel consider the whole issue of wind turbines.

The council also wants to visit the site and to make a landscape assessment of the whole district to look at the effect the turbines would have.

While there is local support for plans to produce renewable energy, strong opposition has emerged from some people who say the turbines will have a bad visual impact on the area.
