Drivers face four-month roadworks
The first phase of a four-month 6.5m scheme to repair part of the M1 in Leicestershire has begun.

The repairs between junction 20 and 21 are intended to reduce the amount of traffic noise in the area.

The work, which will also affect slip roads, will take place 24 hours a day, with three lanes open in both directions and a 40mph speed limit.

Preparatory Work has been going on for two weeks but the main project is due to be completed by mid-November.

The scheme also includes repairs to barrier and drainage systems and re-waterproofing of structures.

The Highways Agency has warned drivers temporary speed cameras will be in place.
