A swimming pool in Leicester will be opening for the first time this year on Friday after a refit. The Evington Pool has undergone a 70,000 refit, with retiling of the area by the water and new fittings installed over the past six weeks.
Managers say it is the first time such work has taken place since the centre opened in the 1970s.
They will now start to encourage people back to Evington, starting with a free swimming day on Sunday.
The refurbishment meant swimmers have had to travel across the city to baths at Braunstone.
